Furry and Feathery Friends

Rush hour on Loudoun Orchard Road! We've seen a lot of wildlife at Stone Gables this past year.

We love the wildlife here on our property. In the late afternoon we have deer that settle down for the evening in our front pasture (no hunters please!), fox, opossums, raccoons, wild turkey and an occasional bear sighting makes for some cool experiences. Monarch butterflies were surprisingly abundant last summer and we have seen a few in the last week on our purple butterfly bush in the back flower garden. This summer we have seen a doe with her twin fawns playing by the pond and a slew of baby wild turkeys running through our property with their mommas. Probably running from the lady with the camera!

Not really wildlife but furry!
